Campervan Rental Terms and Conditions

Drivers

Drivers must be over 25 and under 75 years of age and have held a full driving licence valid for the relevant vehicle for at least two years prior to the commencement of hire. Driver’s licence must be free of endorsements except for minor speeding or parking offences (drivers with more than 6 penalty points may be subject to an insurance loading). All of our motorhomes/campervans can be driven on a standard category B car licence.

We will also require your driver’s license number and your DVLA check code which can be found here

Licences, 2 utility bills with matching address to the driving licence. Visitors from abroad must produce a valid unendorsed domestic driving licence or international driving permit.

Proof of address documents accepted, dated less than 3 months old.

Insurance

Fully comprehensive insurance for the in the UK is included within the hire charge. The insurance is only valid for the period of the hire. Insurance cover is for the vehicle and equipment only. Personal possessions are not covered; hirers are advised to take out holiday insurance.

A £1000 damage deposit/Bond is payable by  bank transfer prior to the commencement of hire (To speed the booking process up we advise this is paid 48 hours before the hire). If the vehicle is returned in good condition, whole and undamaged, with a clean interior, cooker, oven & empty chemical toilet and no other excesses to be charged, the deposit will be refunded in full. Should the condition of the vehicle be otherwise; then repairs, replacements or cleaning costs will be charged against the deposit. Failure to return the vehicle in a clean (particularly the cooker, oven & chemical toilet) condition will incur a £50.00 valeting charge & a charge of £50.00 will be made for unemptied chemical toilet tanks.

Booking

Select the vehicle from the specifications on the website.

Telephone or email to check availability and advise us of any special requests or extras.

Pay deposit of £250.00 per rental by credit/debit card or paypal on the website. Booking Confirmation will be sent to you with your balance details and an invoice for the balance will be sent to you approximately 30 days before the due date; Please note full payment is required 30 Days before the start of the hire period.

Cancellations

The full deposit will be refunded if cancelled before 30 days before the booking. Should the hirer cancel the booking within 30 days we will attempt to re-hire the vehicle. If successful the amount paid will be refunded.  However if re-hire is not successful the hirer will be liable for the deposit. We reserve the right to cancel the booking anytime before the commencement of hire if the named driver’s licences are invalid or do not comply with the requirements in the terms and conditions. In this case you will forfeit the booking deposit and hire charges already paid. As we only have a small fleet, we also reserve the right to cancel the hire if for instance, a previous customer causes damage to the vehicle or in the event of a mechanical failure. We will do our best to either rectify the issue prior to the hire or let you know at the first available opportunity. Hirers are advised to obtain their own holiday insurance to safeguard against such eventualities.

Collection and Returns

Vehicles are available for collection between 1500hrs and 1700hrs and must be returned between 1000hrs and 1030hrs unless otherwise arranged in writing. Failure to comply with these will result in the hirer being surcharged at the rate of £50.00 per hour or part thereof for the first 3 hours and thereafter the balance of the security deposit together with any additional costs incurred by the company. No refunds will be given for an early return of the vehicle.

The hirer acknowledges delivery of the vehicle clean and the contents free from any defect or damage and complete other than as specified by the company on the inventory/damage declaration form. The hirer is advised to check the vehicle thoroughly before leaving the Company’s premises.

Upon return the Company’s representative will check the vehicle for damage, cleanliness (particularly the windscreen which are not included in the Company’s insurance cover) any such damage is the hirer’s responsibility. Failure to return the vehicle in a clean (particularly the cooker, oven & chemical toilet) condition will incur a £50.00 valeting charge & a charge of £50.00 will be made for unemptied chemical toilet tanks.

Liabilities

We accept no liability for replacement vehicle costs, travel or accommodation costs or any other consequential loss claims arising from vehicle breakdown. All accidents and any damage (no matter how minor) to either the exterior or interior including options and accessories must be reported immediately by telephone to Nick Wilmot – Tel Number 07355 932398  This will enable us to order parts etc so that the vehicle can be repaired upon your return for the next hirer. For motor accidents, an accident report form must be completed at the termination of hire, an accident report form is contained within each vehicle to help with this process

The hirer shall be liable for all costs and expenses incurred for speeding, parking fines, congestion charges, low emmision zones and for any other offences committed against the Road Traffic Act or traffic regulations.

Damage to the windscreen, tyres and punctures are the responsibility of the hirer. You are required to check the condition of tyres and engine fluid levels on a daily basis.

The hirer is required to keep the vehicle under their control throughout the hire period. It must be locked at all times when unattended.

Breakdown

In the unlikely event of a breakdown, we have UK and European breakdown cover at the disposal of the hirer. The hirer is authorised to spend up to £100.00 on repairs, this will be repaid on submission of a valid receipt. For repairs costing more than £150.00 prior approval from Comfortz Leisure Limited must be obtained.

Fuel and Gas

The level of the fuel gauge will be noted upon collection and the hirer is responsible for returning the vehicle with the fuel gauge at approximately the same point.

1 gas cylinder is supplied, subsequent refills are the responsibility of the hirer who should ensure that refilled bottles are the same size and fitting and returned with the vehicle.

Animals

Some animals are permitted in certain vehicles by prior arrangement. Any damage incurred will be charged to the hirer in full.

Smoking

Smoking is strictly prohibited.

Availability

Whilst we will make every effort to ensure that the reserved vehicle is available, if due to circumstances beyond our control, this is not possible and an alternative suitable vehicle is not available our liability is limited to the refunds of all monies paid by you. Some features may differ slightly to those illustrated on the website.

Agreement

By making a booking and paying a deposit the Customer/Hirer is entering into a contract with Comfortz Leisure Limited and agrees to abide by Comfortz Leisure Limited terms and conditions.
